Affordable home amenities: brochure vs. reality gap is huge

Okay, I'll be honest – I totally thought buying an affordable home would be simpler. Looking at OSB The Venetian, the brochure looked great, but I'm worried about actual livability after possession. Are the amenities functional, or just for show? My parents keep saying 'don't trust the pictures'. What was your experience?
