After 30 years, downsizing to a flat – legal worries
Visited Alton Tatva Estates last week with my wife. Kids have moved out, so we don't need such a big place anymore, just something manageable near a good hospital. We're looking at a 3BHK, maybe around 1.8 Cr. The builder, Conscient Infrastructure, seems reputable, but I'm honestly a bit worried about the legal side of things. How do you properly check RERA registration? Is it just the number on the site, or should I be looking for specific documents or potential red flags online? Also, I've heard stories about builder-buyer agreements having tricky clauses that always favor them. What are the common ones I should watch out for before signing anything? Don't want to get stuck if there's a delay. What happens if they delay possession? Is RERA actually effective for getting compensation or just on paper? Any real experiences with filing RERA complaints in Gurgaon?
