Altus Ecoglades: Empty nester perspective needed
Altus Ecoglades — kids have moved out, so I'm thinking of selling our big house and moving to something more manageable. Is this project actually good for an older couple? My main concern is the maintenance cost. Kya monthly charges bahut zyada hain? Also, I saw the floor plans online, but are the 1/2 BHKs practical for daily living, ya kaafi cramped feel hota hai? Looking for a quiet, friendly society with good amenities and an elevator. Kisi ko experience hai yahan ka? Hospital access bhi important hai.

Honestly, for ₹42 L, you might find something slightly better or newer. Chandigarh market mein thoda saturation hai abhi. Resale value for 1/2 BHKs in older projects can be tricky. My advice would be to physically visit and check out multiple units, not just rely on online floor plans. And talk to current residents about the actual maintenance bills. Don't decide based on brochure numbers.
I'm a first-time buyer too, but looking at New Chandigarh. The prices there are also around this range, but for newer projects. Altus Ecoglades might be a bit dated for the price, especially if you factor in potential renovation costs. And yes, maintenance for older buildings can be a nightmare if the RWA isn't strong. Also, the project is from 2016, so thoda old ho gaya hai ab, upkeep ka kharcha bhi badhta hai time ke saath. My parents are also looking for a quiet place, not too far from a hospital.
