Are home loan tax benefits really that significant?

Honestly, I had no idea about the actual tax benefits until my CA mentioned them. Section 24 for home loan interest and 80C for principal repayment really help. With high EMIs for a 2BHK in Sector 65, every bit counts. Should I also check 54EC bonds? Any practical tips for maximizing savings?
