DDA Meera Apartment — visiting a few units there recently. My wife and I are downsizing; kids have moved out, so we need something manageable. I'm really looking closely at the maintenance charges quoted. It feels like many societies promise great amenities like clubhouses, but then they're either ghost facilities or the service quality for everyday things like elevators and security is poor. Should I prioritise lower charges over a long amenity list? What's your experience with actual service versus what's promised? Hope this helps someone look beyond just the brochure.

The DDA Meera Apartments were completed way back in 2012, so it's a pretty old project. Total units are 100. Given its age and the current market conditions in Delhi, especially for projects around that possession date, the price range of ₹64 L – ₹4.8 Cr seems quite broad. It's crucial to check if the amenities were ever fully functional since 2012. Many older societies struggle with upgrades.
U5, that price range is wild! ₹4.8 Cr for a 2012 DDA project? That's almost
Absolutely, amenities are a huge trap! I remember looking at a project near Alaknanda a couple of years back. They showed us a beautiful swimming pool and a gym in the brochure, but when we visited, the pool was just a pit and the 'gym' had two rusty machines. What's the point of paying for that? Did you get any specific feedback on the DDA Meera Apartment's actual maintenance and facility quality from current residents?
Totally agree with U6! My uncle bought in Ansal Villas and the 'sports complex' they promised is still just a patchy ground. These builders are all the same. Stick to basics for DDA Meera.
Haan bhai, same experience in Anand Niketan. Builder promised a huge community hall for functions, but it's always booked or under 'renovation'. It's just a way to justify higher charges. Better to prioritize good construction and essential services over flashy extras. DDA should be better, but even they cut corners.
U3, you hit the nail on the head! For DDA Meera, I heard from a friend who lives nearby that the lifts break down quite often and security is a bit lax, especially in the evening. They said the clubhouse is okay, but not worth the premium they charge in maintenance. So, to answer your question, the ground reality for Meera isn't matching the brochure.
Bhai, this is SO true! My biggest fear as a first-time buyer is getting lured by fancy clubhouses only to find the basic stuff like water and electricity supply is unreliable. Maintenance charges are already so high, paying for ghost amenities is just adding insult to injury. DDA Meera sounds like it's facing similar issues from your post.
