DDA Meera Apartment – kids ki safety is my main concern. Everyone glorifies the location but nobody talks about the actual security systems. CCTV sirf display ke liye hain kya? Visitor management bhi bas naam ka hai. Power backup bhi sirf common areas ke liye, pura flat nahi. Disagree? Tell me why.

The original post raises valid points. While the location is prime, especially being established since 2012, security for families, particularly with young kids, is non-negotiable. I mean, what's the point of a good location if you're constantly worried? Has anyone actually faced a security breach or a major power outage in DDA Meera? What was the society management's response then?
It's not just Meera, the general market trend for older societies, even in areas like Anand Niketan, is that security upgrades are slow. Builders often focus on new sales. But for a ₹64 L – ₹4.8 Cr range, one expects top-notch facilities. This definitely affects resale value too.
Yaar, I've heard similar things about DDA flats in general. My cousin lives in a DDA society near Alaknanda, and unka experience bhi mixed hai. Security staff changes often, and sometimes they don't even check IDs properly. For a project whose possession was back in 2012, I'd expect more mature systems. Is the power backup issue really that bad? Like, pura flat and common areas both out for long durations?
Regarding the power backup, it's a standard DDA policy for older societies to only provide backup for common areas. They consider it a cost-saving measure. As for visitor management, my experience has been that it's okay, but not foolproof. Sometimes, vendors just walk in without proper checks. You have to be proactive yourself. Don't rely solely on the guards; always verify your guests.
Totally agree with U6! My friend lives there, same issues. Kids get restless without AC in Delhi ki garmi.
Haan bhai, power backup ka issue hai. Common areas ke liye backup hai but flats ke liye nahi. In summers, it's a real pain. Genset chalaate hain par load shedding ke time pe pura flat and ACs toh bhool jao. It's a DDA thing, they don't invest much in individual flat backups.
Hmm, I actually visited Meera Apartment last month and thought the security looked decent. The guards were attentive at the main gate, and the visitor entry system seemed proper. Maybe your experience was different?
Totally agree with the post! Main bhi Meera Apartments mein dekh raha tha but security ko leke bahut nervous hoon, especially kids ke liye. Feels like they just put up CCTVs for show sometimes.
