Downsizing to Affordable Homes: What's the real ground reality?
My kids have moved abroad and now I'm finally looking to downsize from our big Kothi in old Gurgaon. Don't need such a big place anymore, looking for something manageable in the 'Affordable Homes' corridor. I've visited a few projects in sectors like 79, 81, and 89. Prices look good on paper, but people don't talk about the actual ground reality. Society maintenance charges are often quoted low, but hidden costs ya poor management bahut sunne ko milta hai after possession. New roads are great, but how good is hospital proximity for daily needs? Is the elevator always working? My priority is a good, peaceful society with low maintenance and hospital access. Is it worth buying into these projects for someone my age? Any insights on actual society management and hidden charges after OC? Maybe I'm just overthinking, but don't want surprises. Hope someone can share real experiences.

Aapki baat bilkul sahi hai, hidden costs aur poor management ka dar toh real hai. Ye 'affordable' projects paper pe acche dikhte hain, but ground reality alag hoti hai. Society maintenance low bolte hain, but after OC, you'll see a sharp jump. Plus, hidden charges for everything – power backup, club membership, parking, you name it. Dhara Buildtech jaisa builder toh naam hi kharab hai, unka toh track record zero hai. Hospital access ka bhi dekh lo, sirf road hone se kya hoga, traffic mein kitna time lagega?
