Finally taking the plunge after years of renting
My lease ends in 3 months and I'm finally taking the plunge into property ownership in Chandigarh. Fed up of renting, honestly. Everyone talks about the listed price, but no one really breaks down the actual all-in cost. Builder quotes ₹90L for a 3BHK in New Chandigarh, but by the time you add stamp duty, registration, PLC, parking, then interiors... kitna upar ja sakta hai? Is it really just 10-15% extra ya aur bhi hidden charges hain jo possession pe aate hain? And pre-launch pricing? Sab bolte hain discount milta hai, but I think it's just a marketing gimmick. Builders like Omaxe ya Godrej, unka pre-launch kya sach mein sasta hota hai, ya open market mein bhi same rate mil jaata hai? Sometimes I feel like it's a trap. Change my mind. What's the real total acquisition cost, and is pre-launch ever actually a deal?

Totally feel you on this! My lease also ends in a few months, and I'm eyeing Chandigarh too. That 90L for a 3BHK sounds like a dream price, but then reality hits. I've heard stories where the final cost goes up by 25-30% easily after adding everything – stamp duty, registration, club membership, EDC/IDC, then the interiors. It's like a never-ending list. Aur yeh pre-launch ka toh mujhe bhi samajh nahi aata. Sab bolte hain sasta milta hai, but is it really? Ya builder bas ek hype create karte hain? My
