First home hunt has me questioning the daily commute
The claim that Sohna connectivity is sorted because of the elevated road is totally misleading. I'm 29, looking to buy my first 2BHK here, but my parents keep saying the bottleneck near Rajiv Chowk will ruin daily office travel. Honestly, ab samajh nahi aa raha if the infrastructure actually makes life easier or just looks good on paper. Has anyone here been commuting daily to Cyber City from Sohna?
Comments
I feel so stuck honestly. On one hand, living on rent in central Gurgaon feels like throwing money away every month. On the other hand, spending 70 lakhs in Sohna and then suffering every day at Rajiv Chowk feels like an equally bad trap. What did you finally decide to do, or are you still visiting sites on weekends?
Same dilemma here. I was also checking properties near Baliawas along Gurgaon-Faridabad road to see if that commute makes more sense for Cyber City. What is your actual budget for the 2BHK?
Company cabs usually refuse to go beyond Badshahpur flyover unless there are at least 3 or 4 employees pooling together. So you will mostly depend on your own car, and current petrol costs will just add another 10k to your monthly EMI burden.
Aise budget constraints mein we always end up compromising on commute. But did you check if company cabs are available on that route?
Most decent 2BHKs in Sohna are asking around 65 to 75 lakhs right now, whereas anything closer to Golf Course Extension or Baliawas easily crosses 1.2 crore. For people like us who cannot stretch beyond a 50 lakh home loan, Sohna is the only hope left, which is why we keep trying to convince ourselves about the road.
Daily Cyber City commute from Sohna is going to be brutal, yaar. If your office has mandatory 5 days work from office, please don't take this risk blindly. My colleague bought there last year thinking hybrid mode chalega, but now his company called everyone back, and he looks totally exhausted every single morning.
Bhai, Rajiv Chowk is pure madness during peak hours, no doubt about it. Has anyone tried leaving before 8 AM to see if that actually saves time?
Leaving early works on paper, but can we really sustain that lifestyle every single day for the next 10 years? We are putting our life savings here, thoda practical sochna padega.
Yes, I tried that trial run last month because my wife and I were almost ready to pay the booking amount. If you cross Rajiv Chowk before 8:15 AM, it is totally smooth sailing. But coming back in the evening around 7 PM is where the real nightmare starts, especially near the Baharampur Naya stretch where local traffic chokes the slip roads. It completely drains your energy after a full day of office work.
Your parents are totally right to worry, bhai. I am in the exact same boat, saving every rupee for a 2BHK down payment, and even thinking about Rajiv Chowk traffic gives me cold feet. Elevated road toh theek hai, but the exit jam kills everything. Are you looking at projects before or after the toll plaza?
Before the toll is slightly better, but with current Gurugram prices shooting past 8500 per sqft even in developing sectors, Sohna feels like the only realistic option for budget buyers like us. Still, losing two hours daily in traffic scares me so much.
I checked out a couple of societies near Badshahpur last weekend. The sales guys claim it takes 20 minutes to Cyber City, but on a regular Tuesday morning at 9 AM, it took me 55 minutes just to touch Subhash Chowk. It made me rethink my whole budget, honestly.
