First-time buyer in Delhi: How much can you really negotiate?
Did a site visit to Vikram Properties And Builder in Block GH 8 on Saturday and honestly wasn't expecting this. They quoted ₹2.2Cr for a 2BHK, which is already pushing my budget, but then the "spot discount" they offered was a joke, like barely ₹50k. I tried to negotiate more, thinking I could at least get ₹1L-₹1.5L off, but they were so rigid. My parents keep saying always negotiate hard in Delhi, but this wasn't happening. Plus, the broker casually mentioned stamp duty, registration, and PLC would add another 10-12% *on top*. Ab samajh nahi aa raha, is negotiation even real for first-time buyers in these established areas? How much can you actually knock off, especially from builders like this? Or are these spot discounts just a marketing gimmick?

Yaar, I feel you. Same situation with me in Dwarka. Builders just don't budge much for 2BHKs anymore, especially in established blocks. ₹50k on ₹2.2Cr is seriously insult-to-injury. My parents also said negotiation is key in Delhi but it's not like the old days.
But then how do people even buy? The 10-12% extra for stamp duty, registration, and PLC is what kills the budget for first-time buyers like us. Did you manage to get anything more after haggling, even if it was a small perk?
Totally agree. They act like they're doing us a favour with these 'discounts'.
