First-time buyer in Sector 161, confused about daily life

Since last month I've been really focused on Sector 161 for a 2BHK. My budget is around ₹1 Cr, and honestly, the projects there seem decent on paper. I'm a bit concerned about daily commute though. With the Aqua Line extension, connectivity looks better, but how's the last-mile from the stations to societies in Sector 161? Is it a hassle getting auto/rickshaw? My parents keep saying safety is key, especially for a new area. What's the ground reality for safety, particularly at night for women or for families with kids? Also, for future planning, how are the schools around Sector 161? Are there good options or is it a long haul for kids? Would love to hear from actual residents. What's your honest take on living there?
