posted on 9 MayGhaziabad home hunt: My EMI vs. rent dilemma
Since January I've been shortlisting flats in this city. Honestly, after my landlord raised rent again, I'm just fed up of renting. I've been looking at 2BHKs around Indirapuram and Raj Nagar Extension, prices are around ₹60-75L for something decent. The EMI vs rent math feels really tight, especially when you factor in maintenance, property tax, and all those other hidden costs. I saw a nice place by Gaurs in Siddhartha Vihar, but the total outgo seems huge compared to my current rent. Is it just me, or does the real math for buying in Ghaziabad not really add up right now? What's your experience with actual monthly costs beyond just EMI?

Totally relatable! I'm also looking in Indirapuram and the numbers just don't make sense. EMI alone is like double my rent, then add maintenance, property tax, electricity, water... it's a black hole. Feels like we're stuck in this rent-trap forever.
Haan bhai, same experience. Especially those 'super built-up' area calculations. Kya milega usmein? Builders sirf numbers badhate hain.
