Gurugram NRI buy: What I didn't see from afar?

Honestly, buying our 3BHK on Golf Course Extension Road from abroad was trickier than expected. We just moved in, and the advertised maintenance charges were way off. Plus, managing paperwork remotely was a nightmare. Is it just me, or do NRI investments often come with these hidden headaches once you're actually here? What did you wish you knew?
