Gurugram property buyers, how do you tackle inflated super area?

Budget finalised, loan pre-approved — but Ganpati Builders in Sector 83 just dropped a bomb on the super area for my 3BHK. I work in real estate, yet this super area vs carpet area game feels like a proper trap, adding so much to common areas. Effectively inflating my price per sqft. Is this normal, or should I push back hard? What did others do about this kind of hidden cost?
