Hoodi/Venkateshpura for seniors is a gamble, not a safe bet.
My current house sale is almost done, aur ab real hunt for a new place begins. Kids have moved out, so don't need such a big place anymore. Humlog ab ek 2BHK dekh rahe hain Hoodi ya Venkateshpura side, around ₹1.2 Cr max. Main worry hai safety aur medical access. Society mein toh security guard hote hain, but bahar ka mahol kaisa hai? Especially for elders, evening walks ke liye safe hai kya? Aur good hospitals kitni door hain? Matlab, emergency mein kitna time lagta hai reach hone mein? I heard Columbia Asia Whitefield is there, but traffic mein time bahut lagta hai na? Koi specific building ya area hai jahan senior citizens zyada rehte hain? Yaar, low maintenance aur elevator toh chahiye hi. Resale value ka bhi thoda pata karna hai, just in case. Any experiences with safety for older folks there?

Dekho, U1, ₹1.2 Cr mein Hoodi/Venkateshpura mein achha 2BHK mil jayega, especially in some of the newer projects. Low maintenance aur elevator toh standard ho gaya hai. Resale value bhi theek hai because of the IT crowd, but senior citizens ke liye safety aur medical access hi primary concern hona chahiye. Columbia Asia is good, but traffic will always be an issue. Maybe look for societies jo main road se thoda andar hon but phir bhi easy access ho, aur jinke paas chota clinic ya pharmacy ho. Agrahara Layout mein kuch societies hain jo thoda quieter hain, but connectivity might be an issue. It's a trade-off, really.
I had a similar budget two years ago, but for Akshayanagar. Hoodi/Venkateshpura were also on my list. Resale value ka toh pata nahi, but new projects mein kaafi inflation ho gaya hai. Maine Akshayanagar mein ek 2BHK 1.1 Cr mein liya tha, ab uska rate 1.3-1.4 Cr chal raha hai. Hoodi mein bhi prices badhe hain, but senior citizens ke liye I think it's still a bit underdeveloped compared to established areas. Connectivity aur amenities kaafi improve hui hain, but safety outside the society is a genuine concern. Aapne kitne mein liya tha aur ab kya rate chal raha hai?
U4, aapne maintenance kitna pay karte ho Akshayanagar mein? Aur builder ka experience kaisa raha?
U4, Akshayanagar mein 1.1 Cr mein 2BHK is a steal! Hoodi mein abhi minimal 1.25-1.3 Cr mein milta hai for a decent 2BHK, aur woh bhi thoda purana construction. New projects toh 1.4 Cr se start hote hain. Rate toh badhe hain, no doubt.
Hoodi/Venkateshpura ko seniors ke liye safe kehna, thoda mushkil hai. Bahut construction chal raha hai, dust aur noise kaafi hai. Plus, the crowd is mostly young IT professionals, so senior-friendly infrastructure utna developed nahi hai. Evening walks ke liye I'd say not very safe outside gated communities, especially after dark. Venkateshpura mein toh kuch pockets abhi bhi proper roads nahi hain, especially near Aavalahalli. Wahan pe parks ya community spaces hain kya jahan senior citizens sham ko walk kar sakein?
Haan, aur jo existing parks hain bhi, unka maintenance kaafi poor hai. Proper benches nahi, lighting issues. Not ideal for elders at all.
U3, aapki baat sahi hai. Hoodi mein kuch societies ke andar chote parks hain, but public parks ya bade green spaces bahut kam hain. Venkateshpura side toh aur bhi mushkil hai. Log apni society ke andar hi walk karte hain ya phir car nikaal ke Phoenix Marketcity ke paas jaate hain for a proper walk, which again brings up the traffic issue. Senior citizens ke liye dedicated spaces ki kami hai.
Bhai, aapki concerns bilkul valid hain. Hoodi aur Venkateshpura, dono areas mein traffic kaafi hectic ho gaya hai, especially during peak hours. Columbia Asia toh hai but reach karna is a task. Maine bhi ek property dekhi thi Hoodi mein, society bahut achhi thi but bahar nikalte hi road pe cars race karti hain. Evening walks ke liye thoda sochna padega. Traffic toh real issue hai, especially peak hours mein. Kaise manage karte hain log?
Exactly! Meri saas ko ek baar emergency mein le jaana pada tha, 40 mins lag gaye sirf 5km cover karne mein. Bahut stressful tha.
Traffic ka koi manage nahi hai bhai, it's a nightmare. Subah 8-10 aur shaam 5-8 toh bhool hi jao. Agar emergency mein hospital jana ho, toh Columbia Asia ya Manipal tak pahunchne mein minimum 30-45 mins lag jaate hain, even with an ambulance sometimes. Log mostly early morning ya late evening mein hi nikalte hain walk ke liye, but main roads pe ab bhi risk hai. Interior lanes thoda better hain, but wahan bhi stray dogs ka issue rehta hai.
