Investment Hotspots commute is a daily nightmare, not an asset.

My landlord just hiked rent again, so I'm finally taking the plunge. Been looking at places along the Investment Hotspots corridor. Online, it sounds amazing for ROI, but driving around, I'm seeing crazy traffic, especially near the main junctions. Brochures don't mention the daily grind. Is it actually worth it for a family? Amenities seem a bit far sometimes. What's the ground reality for commuting daily and general life there? Am I missing something crucial beyond the investment angle?
