Is buying Bangalore property from abroad risky?

Whitefield keeps coming up every time. I work in real estate, but buying for myself is different. NRI interest bahut hai. Is it worth buying from abroad without visiting for good ROI? Matlab, virtual tours pe kitna trust karein? Not sure appreciation still strong enough. Any experiences, especially in Sarjapur Road?
