Is MG Road living really practical for seniors?
Spent the whole Sunday checking out options on MG Road, Mohali. My kids have moved out, so I'm planning to sell our big house and get a smaller, more manageable flat. Honestly, MG Road looks quite promising on paper, proximity to everything is a plus. But I'm genuinely worried about the ground reality for an empty nester couple like us. Kya wahan traffic noise ka issue rehta hai, especially in the evenings? I saw some older buildings; unki society maintenance aur security kaisi hai? For us, a reliable elevator and quick hospital access are super important. Is the hospital proximity really practical ya sirf brochure mein achha lagta hai? Also, I'm not sure if water/electricity supply is consistent in all sectors there. Koi hidden issues hain jo site visit pe nahi dikhte? What about resale value later? Any advice ya koi red flags jo buyers ko pata hone chahiye?

Totally understand your concerns! I visited MG Road last month for my parents and the traffic was a nightmare in the evening. Plus, some of those older societies looked quite run down. Maintenance seems like a big question mark. Good hospitals are nearby, but getting to them through that traffic could be tough.
Sahi keh rahe ho, traffic is a real pain. My uncle lives near Sector 68 and even there it's bad, but MG Road is next level. For seniors, that's a huge issue.
