posted on 5 MayIs Prestige Group's customer support worth the premium?
₹1.5 crore for a 3BHK in Prestige City Whitefield feels like a massive commitment, especially for a first home. I've also looked at Keya Life By The Lake, which is a bit more budget-friendly. Honestly, I'm worried about customer support post-booking. Heard stories about builders going silent after sales. Prestige has a big name, but do they actually care after you sign that cheque? And what about Keya Homes? Any RERA complaints or bad experiences with their customer service? Is it worth paying more for perceived peace of mind?

Ultimately, for a first-time buyer like us, the emotional investment is huge, not just financial. The premium for Prestige might save you from sleepless nights later, but that's not guaranteed either. Keya could be a gem for the price, or a nightmare. It boils down to your personal risk appetite and how much you value the 'brand' vs. immediate savings. Toh finally kya decide kiya? Did you visit both sites like U11 suggested?
It's a tough choice, OP. Both sides have valid points. Prestige offers brand security, but at a higher cost and not always perfect service. Keya is budget-friendly, but might carry more risk. My advice would be to visit both sites, not just the sales office, but talk to existing residents if possible. They will give you the real picture of post-sales support and construction quality. Don't rely solely on online reviews.
Dekho, Prestige has been around since 1986, headquartered in Bengaluru. They've built a massive brand. While no builder is 100% perfect with customer service, especially with thousands of units, Prestige generally has a better track record of resolving issues, even if it takes time. The premium covers not just quality, but also the peace of mind that your investment is with a stable, reputable company. Keya might be cheaper, but the risk factor could be higher for a first-time buyer.
I can share a positive experience. My cousin booked in Prestige South Ridge a few years back, and while there were minor snags during possession, their team was responsive. They fixed everything before final handover. For a first home, the reliability of a builder like Prestige does matter a lot, especially for a project as big as Prestige City Whitefield. You pay for that assurance, I feel.
Brand name doesn't guarantee everything, U8. My uncle had a flat in a Prestige project near Bannerghatta Road fringes, and even for a simple leakage issue, it took months to get resolved. Unko lagta hai ki once sold, it's done. So, don't blindly trust the brand, still do your due diligence.
Haan, the Prestige premium is real. That's why Keya Life By The Lake caught my eye too – it's definitely more budget-friendly. But then again, budget-friendly can sometimes mean cutting corners. OP, you asked about Keya Homes. Any specific RERA complaints about them? Have they been reliable with possession dates?
Keya ka possession time pe milta hai kya? That's my biggest concern. Any actual buyers here?
Keya ka toh pata nahi, but I almost went with a budget builder in Krishnarajapuram Metro corridor. Thank god I backed out! They kept delaying possession, and construction quality was suspect. My friend who booked there is still fighting for basic amenities. So, be very careful with budget options, sometimes the premium is for basic reliability.
Keya Homes ka reputation theek-thaak hai, but they are relatively newer compared to Prestige (est. 1986). For RERA complaints, the best way is to check the Karnataka RERA portal directly. Type their project name, you'll see all details, including any penalties or delayed possession records. Given current high interest rates, every penny saved matters, but not at the cost of future headaches. Always cross-check!
Bhai, exactly my thoughts! ₹1.5 crore for a 3BHK in Whitefield is a huge amount, especially when it's your first big investment. Prestige ka naam toh hai, but after-sales service ke liye itna premium dena worth it hai kya? I've heard so many horror stories about builders ignoring buyers once the cheque clears. Is Prestige genuinely different, ya sirf brand value ka hype hai?
Prestige is good for construction quality, no doubt. But for post-booking issues? My cousin faced a delay of almost 8 months for handover even after full payment. Unki customer support team calls ka reply bhi der se karti thi. So, the premium doesn't always guarantee peace of mind after sale.
Totally agree with U1! My friend booked a flat with another 'big name' builder near Attibele / Hosur Road outskirts, and for minor repairs post-possession, they made him run around for months. Prestige ka naam bada hai, but customer service mein sab ek jaise hi hote hain sometimes. You're right to be worried.
