Hey guys, found this video about the Jewar Airport project in Noida and the compensation being given to farmers. Apparently, even after getting crores, many are still unhappy? Kya scene hai? Has anyone here been following this closely? What's your take on the situation? Seems complicated...

It's a messy situation, and there are no easy answers. But it's important to keep talking about it and holding the government accountable.
Ultimately, I think it boils down to empathy. We need to put ourselves in the shoes of these farmers and understand their perspective.
Is the airport construction still on schedule? I haven't heard much about it lately.
So, what's the latest update on this whole compensation thing? Any progress or are the farmers still protesting?
Sector 150 is expensive, yes. But it's also because of the good infrastructure and green spaces. Airport is just one factor. Avg rate is around 7500-8000 per sqft now.
My friend's family lost land near the Formula 1 track years ago. They got compensation, but they complain that the value of land around them has increased so much that they can't afford to buy even a small plot now. Irony, huh?
Haan, exactly! That's the real problem. Inflation eats away at the compensation, and they can't afford to reinvest in land.
True that. The value of land appreciates much faster than any fixed deposit interest they might get.
So, what's the solution? How can we ensure that development benefits everyone, not just the rich and powerful?
The government should have offered them a stake in the airport project itself. That way, they would have a long-term source of income and a sense of ownership.
I think the government needs to do a better job of not just giving money, but also providing financial literacy and job training to these farmers. That's the only way to ensure their long-term well-being.
Yaar, it's a tough situation all around. Development is necessary, but not at the cost of human dignity. A balance needs to be struck.
I heard the land rates around Sector 150 are already crazy high because of the airport. Kitna sach hai?
I invested in a plot near Jewar a couple of years back. Hoping for good returns. But this news makes you think... is it worth it if it's built on someone else's misery?
My cousin lost his land to the Yamuna Expressway project years ago. He got compensation, but he's still struggling. He says the money ran out quickly, and he didn't know how to invest it properly. He ended up working as a security guard. It's heartbreaking.
Has anyone actually spoken to these farmers directly? I'm curious to hear their side of the story unfiltered.
Last I heard, there were some disputes about the rate of compensation. Some farmers felt they were being shortchanged compared to others. RERA mein kuch case file hua hai kya?
Exactly. RERA is for builder-buyer disputes, not land compensation. Wrong forum, bro.
Maybe they should approach the courts directly? RERA won't help here.
RERA isn't really involved in land acquisition, that's more of a government thing. But yeah, I'm sure there are legal battles going on.
Yeah, I saw that too. It's always the same story, isn't it? Government promises crores, but after land acquisition, tax, and 'agents' cutting their share, farmers are left with much less. Sad reality.
Crores toh bol rahe hain, but at what cost? Their ancestral land, their livelihood gone. Money can't replace everything. I feel for them.
Exactly! And what about the long-term impact? Will they know how to manage such huge sums of money? Most are simple farmers, not financial wizards. Think about it.
Arre bhai, Jewar airport is good for Noida! Property prices will skyrocket. Thoda toh sacrifice karna padega for progress. What about the jobs it will create?
Jobs for whom? Most of the skilled jobs will go to outsiders, not the local farmers. They'll be left with menial labor, if anything.
U4, progress at whose expense? Easy for you to say sitting in your AC apartment. These farmers are losing their everything!
Haan bhai, 'progress' is always a convenient excuse. Have you seen the pollution levels in Noida already? Airport banne ke baad toh aur bura haal hoga.
