Visited Keya Life By The Lake, finally fed up of renting. Everyone glorifies new projects, but nobody talks about the actual power backup. Is it full flat or just common areas? Change my mind.

So, if Keya Life is like this, what about other projects in that price range? Are there any builders who actually provide full power backup for all 50 units? Any suggestions near Akshayanagar or Aishwarya Crystal Layout that are reliable?
Even then, they might charge a huge premium for the genset usage per hour. Always check the fine print!
For full flat backup, you usually need to look at ultra-luxury segments or specific projects that market it as a premium feature. It's rare for standard projects, even completed ones like Keya Life, unless explicitly stated. Check out some projects in Agrahara Layout, I heard a few are coming up with better amenities, but always verify the power backup claim.
Same story everywhere. They promise the moon and deliver a pebble. So frustrating for someone looking to invest their life savings.
This is a major red flag for Keya Life. I almost booked a flat there last year, but backed out. The sales team was super vague about full power backup. They kept saying '24/7 power' but when I pushed them, it was only for common areas and a few light points inside the flat. For a project in the ₹4.0 Cr – ₹5.9 Cr range, that's absolutely unacceptable. Be very careful, especially in the current Bengaluru market where prices are high but amenities are often compromised for first-time buyers.
This is why I'm so scared to buy. Builders are always like this, promising big and delivering less.
Thanks for the warning! What kind of 'few light points' are we talking about? Like, just one per room or something specific in the living area? This is crucial for a first-time buyer like me to understand the true cost.
Bhai, Keya Life toh completed project hai na? PRM/KA/RERA/1251/309/PR/210119/003787. Power backup ki details RERA filings mein nahi hoti kya? Is it really ₹4.0 Cr – ₹5.9 Cr for just common area backup? That seems ridiculous.
So, is it possible to get full backup if we pay extra for the genset usage?
Absolutely right about checking the BBA! I learned this the hard way with another builder. They had a clause saying 'power backup for essential services' which turned out to be just lights and fans, no AC or geyser. For a project like Keya Life at ₹4.0 Cr – ₹5.9 Cr, I'd expect better. Don't sign anything without clarifying this in writing, even if it's completed and looks good.
RERA filings usually mention power backup capacity but often not the 'full flat vs common area' detail explicitly. You need to dig into the BBA (Builder Buyer Agreement) or ask very specific questions. Keya Life being completed, you should be able to get this info from existing residents.
Totally agree with the original post! Builders always hide these details. My friend faced similar issues in a different project near Aavalahalli, where they claimed full backup but it was only for common areas. For a first-time buyer, this is such a headache.
Exactly! They show you the fancy clubhouse and amenities but conveniently forget to mention the generator capacity for individual flats. Keya Life has only 50 units, so full backup shouldn't be that hard for them to provide, right?
Haan bhai, it's a common trick. Had a similar issue in Adigara Kallahalli. They just show you the glossy brochure.
