Krishna Kunj: Is the commute manageable?
Did a site visit to Krishna Kunj last weekend, checking out some 3BHK options. I'm currently in a 2BHK near University Road and thinking of upgrading, but honestly not sure if the price jump is worth it for this area. Already have a home loan, so every penny counts. My biggest concern is the daily commute. How's the traffic during peak hours, especially getting to 150 Feet Ring Road? Also, what's the parking situation like in newer projects there? Is it a daily battle or generally manageable? Would love to hear real experiences.

Look, Krishna Kunj has potential for sure, but it's still developing. The infrastructure isn't fully there yet compared to established areas. If you're okay with a 5-10 year horizon for significant appreciation and don't mind the current commute challenges, then maybe. But for a first-time buyer on a tight budget, the immediate pain points of commute, limited amenities nearby, and potentially slower appreciation might outweigh the shiny new apartment. Always do a few test runs during peak hours before deciding, that's my advice.
Which specific project were you looking at in Krishna Kunj? Price range kya quote kar rahe the 3BHK ke liye?
For that price, you can get something decent closer to the city, maybe a slightly older building, but better commute. Nayi building ka charm hai, but location is king, always remember that.
Same here, 60L ke upar ja raha hai sab. Feels like a stretch for a first home.
Haan, builder aur price batao toh thoda idea lagega. Ek project mein toh mujhe 65L+ bol rahe the for a 3BHK, which felt too high for that location and the amenities offered.
Commute wise, agar aap early morning nikalte ho ya late evening, then it's manageable. Otherwise, yes, 150 Feet Ring Road pe traffic badhta ja raha hai. Try looking for projects closer to the Ring Road itself, not deep inside Krishna Kunj. Parking ka issue is real, always ask for dedicated covered parking slots, open parking doesn't cut it in newer societies.
Dedicated covered parking is a must. Builders often show open space as 'parking' but it's not practical. What about security in these new projects though? Are they generally good?
Early morning nikalna is not an option for me yaar, my office timings are pretty standard.
Totally understand your dilemma. I went through the same thing last year. Krishna Kunj projects look good on paper and the amenities are tempting, but the moment you factor in daily commute to the city centre or even Ring Road, it eats into your time and fuel budget. Plus, the appreciation in that specific pocket isn't as fast as other developed areas, so the 'investment' part also feels a bit shaky. Think long-term, not just the shiny new apartment.
Budget-conscious buyers ke liye yeh sab points bahut important hain. Har penny counts, truly.
Sahi baat hai, appreciation ka bhi darr rehta hai. Mera ek friend ne liya wahan, abhi tak toh kuch khaas return nahi dikh raha hai compared to other properties in Rajkot.
Yaar, Krishna Kunj mein 3BHK ka price jump is no joke. I checked a few projects too, the per sqft rate seems inflated for the distance from the main city. Commute to 150 Feet Ring Road during office hours is a pain, trust me. You'll spend a good chunk of your day stuck.
I live near 150 Feet Ring Road already, thoda aage se. Peak hours mein, especially near the junctions, it's a nightmare. Subah 8-10 aur shaam 6-8, you're looking at 30-45 minutes extra just for a few kilometers. Unless you have flexible timings, it's a deal-breaker for daily commute.
Parking toh naya headache hai. Builder bolte hain ample, but site pe jaake dekho, sab narrow spaces. Aur visitor parking ka toh poochho hi mat, daily battle ho jaati hai.
Exactly! Mera bhi same concern hai. University Road se toh bahut difference hai, time waste alag.
