Moving to Gijhore: What's it really like?
My current lease in Delhi ends in 3 months, and I'm seriously looking at Gijhore, Noida Extension, for my first 2BHK. I've done a few site visits, seen some Gaursons and ACE Group projects, and the brochures look great, but I'm trying to get a real feel for daily life there. Is it actually family-friendly? I'm worried about the commute to Noida Sec 62, and how bad the traffic gets during peak hours. Also, what's the deal with local markets and schools nearby? Are there decent options for kids, or is everything a long drive away? I heard about some water supply issues in certain pockets; is that true for Gijhore generally? Any honest experiences about living there would be super helpful, especially from families. What are the hidden cons you only discover after moving in? Hope this helps someone else too.

While there are challenges, I think Gijhore has good future potential. Prices are still relatively affordable compared to main Noida. Infrastructure is developing, slowly but surely. Metro connectivity is projected, which will ease the commute a lot. For families, many new societies have good amenities like clubhouses and play areas. It's a trade-off between current inconveniences and future appreciation, in my opinion.
I'm really keen on the family-friendly aspect. Are there any decent schools or parks within a 5-10 minute drive? My kids are young, so proximity is key. And what about local markets for daily groceries?
Yeah, local markets are there, but for proper shopping, you'd have to go towards Gaur City or even further. There's a decent park in ACE City, open to all.
For schools, Sapphire International is a good option, it's not too far from main Gijhore area. For groceries, there are a few local mandis and small stores that have popped up, but a proper big market like in Delhi is missing. You'll find most daily essentials though.
Yaar, I bought a 2BHK in Gaursons Hi-Tech two years back in Gijhore. Commute to Sec 62 is a nightmare in peak hours, easily 45-60 mins one way. Water supply has been intermittent for us, especially during summers, and quality is not great. We had to install an RO and water softener. Schools are still developing, not many established ones nearby. Hidden con: power cuts are more frequent than other parts of Noida.
Same here, U4! My project, though from a different builder, near Alistonia Estate, also faces water pressure issues. Builder ne bola tha 24x7 supply, but it's just not there. For schools, we ended up enrolling our kid in a school in Indirapuram, which means a longer bus ride. Think twice before relying solely on brochures.
Commute time is no joke. My friend lives near Alpha I Greater Noida and faces similar traffic everyday to reach Noida.
Oh no, water issues in Gaursons? Is it a general Gijhore problem or specific to your society? Any idea about the borewell situation there?
Totally agree with your concerns, especially about water and traffic. I'm also looking there and these are my biggest worries.
Gijhore sounds good on paper, but bhai, current market conditions are tricky. Builders promise the moon, but delivery aur quality mein fark aa jata hai. Noida Extension mein bahut projects delayed hain, first-time buyer ke liye thoda risky ho sakta hai.
