My 3BHK hunt: Stamp duty shocker in Sector 24C
Visited Sector 24C last weekend, checking out a few 3BHK options. Honestly, fed up of renting, landlord ne phir rent badha diya. Finally taking the plunge, EMI vs rent math ab sahi lag raha hai. But yaar, property price dekh ke toh laga ₹1.5 Cr tak theek hai, but then ye stamp duty, registration, aur parking ka charges, it's a shocker! Matlab, total cost kaafi upar chala jaata hai. Builder ne bola spot discount hai on base price, but other charges pe zero negotiation. Is it even possible to get some relief on stamp duty or other government charges? Ya woh fixed hi hote hain? Also, construction-linked payment plan lein ya down payment option zyada better hai? Not sure which one locks me in less. Has anyone negotiated these 'fixed' charges successfully in Chandigarh? Any tips would be super helpful.
