My 3BHK upgrade: Ghaziabad negotiation reality check
Okay, I'll be honest — I thought my negotiation skills were decent until I started looking for a 3BHK here. I'm currently in a 2BHK in Vasundhara and eyeing an upgrade, maybe a 3BHK in Nehru Nagar II, perhaps from SG Estates. I'm trying to maximize value, obviously. Does price negotiation actually work in Ghaziabad? For new projects, how much can you realistically knock off the builder's quoted price? Like, is 5-7% even possible, or are we talking 1-2% if you're lucky? Also, are secondary market deals generally more flexible on price? I'm wondering if going resale is smarter for better negotiation. And what about payment plans? Does opting for a construction-linked plan give you more leverage for negotiation, or is a larger upfront down payment better for getting a discount? Any insights on this would be super helpful. Trying to avoid overpaying.

Totally get you! I'm in Vasundhara too, eyeing a 3BHK, maybe in Ahinsa Khand 1. My negotiation skills also went for a toss. Builders don't seem to care. I tried to get even 3% off on a new project last month, but they just wouldn't budge. They kept pushing for freebies instead of actual price reduction. It's so frustrating trying to figure out if it's even worth pushing for a discount or just accepting the 'fixed price'.
