My downsizing journey: Unpacking hidden costs
Maintenance charges in Gurugram projects are a real eye-opener. Log brochure mein amenities dekhte hain, but koi actual cost ya service quality nahi dekhta. I'm looking at Birla Arika, kids have moved out, so don't need such a big place anymore. Want something manageable, but these costs seem high for a compact 2BHK. Builder ki maintenance team ka service response time kaisa hota hai after possession? Is it worth the money ya phir sirf bills aate rehte hain? Mera existing property ka resale chal raha hai, so I need to factor in all this. Often, the promised service level just isn't there, right? Also, is full power backup usually included in the standard charges, ya alag se pay karna padta hai? Kuch hidden costs bhi hote hain kya... Hope this helps someone who's also downsizing.

Bhai, you've hit the nail on the head! Gurugram mein maintenance charges are a nightmare. Hum jaise first-time buyers toh sirf brochure mein swimming pool aur gym dekh ke khush ho jaate hain, but baad mein pata chalta hai ki bill toh har mahine kaat raha hai. Builder bolte hain sab included hai, but phir achanak se 'sinking fund' ya 'club membership' ke naam pe extra demand aa jaati hai. Meri family bhi chhoti hai ab, so looking for something compact near Badshahpur, but even there, costs are crazy high.
