posted on 6 MayNRI trying to buy property remotely — this is hard
Not gonna lie, buying property from Dubai feels like a huge leap of faith. I'm looking at Noida Extension, maybe a 2BHK in Sector 150 or Greater Noida West from Gaursons or ACE Group. My biggest worry is legal clarity and managing things remotely. Can't do site visits myself. How do you handle Power of Attorney from abroad? Is finding a reliable property manager for rental yields actually achievable? Worried about hidden issues or maintenance post-possession.

My brother bought a plot in Alistonia Estate, Greater Noida, and it was a mess even with him being in India. For an NRI, you absolutely need a trusted family member or a very reputed legal firm to handle the POA. We used a lawyer for the POA process, but even then, site visits and checking construction quality was a huge headache. How did others find a reliable lawyer for POA from abroad? Any recommendations?
Gaursons and ACE Group have mixed reviews. Especially for remote buying, you need someone *very* reliable on the ground. Power of Attorney is key, don't just give it to anyone without solid background checks. Heard a few horror stories from people buying in Greater Noida West.
Haan bhai, Gaursons ka bhi track record mixed hai, especially for finishes and maintenance. My friend booked in Ajayabpur with them and had endless issues. Better be super careful.
Totally agree with U2. I know someone who bought a flat in Alpha II Greater Noida from ACE Group, and the possession got delayed by 2 years, they even faced issues with the quality of fittings later. They had to fly down just to follow up and resolve snag lists. Remote buying is super risky with these big builders if you don't have local support, especially with the paperwork post-possession.
Bhai, totally relatable! I'm also looking from abroad, and the trust factor is huge. Noida Extension is good, but yes, remote management is a nightmare to even think about.
