Sector 15 – I'm honestly so confused about this area. Kids have moved out, so my wife and I are downsizing, looking for a 2BHK near a good hospital. Builder ne bahut kuch bola tha regarding medical facilities, but ab seems like sab bahar hai, not proper hospitals. Is emergency care really accessible? And what about hidden charges for society services, especially for seniors? Don't want unexpected costs after selling our big house. Anyone faced this?

Hidden charges are a real menace. My parents bought a 3BHK a few years back, not in Sector 15 but nearby, and the maintenance charges they quoted initially were almost half of what they're paying now. They keep adding 'club charges', 'power backup charges', 'security upgrade fees' – it never ends! And for seniors, managing these unexpected costs on a fixed income is a huge stress. Make sure to read the fine print in the maintenance agreement very carefully.
Haan, club charges toh most common hidden cost hai. Plus, power backup bhi alag se hota hai.
You are so right! My experience echoes this. Society maintenance charges are often underestimated by builders to make the property look more affordable. Once you're in, these charges magically increase. Also, check for the corpus fund contribution and what it covers. Many societies charge extra for things like lift maintenance or common area repairs that should ideally be covered by the regular maintenance.
This is exactly my fear! My parents are also thinking of Sector 15 for a 2BHK. Builder ne toh Max, Medanta ke naam liye the, but jab map pe dekho toh 10-15km door hain. In an emergency, that's a lot. Which hospitals are they even talking about that are 'near' Sector 15? Aur hidden charges ka kya scene hai? Any idea about their RERA status or past projects?
RERA status check is crucial, especially for older projects or those nearing completion. Builders often delay possession or change layouts if they aren't fully compliant. Currently, the Gurugram market is seeing some inventory pressure, so some developers might be pushing sales aggressively without being fully transparent about amenities or timelines. Always check the RERA website for project details and past complaints before even thinking about booking.
Haan, Max aur Medanta toh kaafi door hain from Sector 15, especially with the daily traffic. The only ones relatively 'closer' are smaller local hospitals or polyclinics, which might not be equipped for all emergencies. My uncle had an issue recently while staying with us in **Badshahpur**, and even from there, reaching a super-specialty hospital was a 30-minute ordeal. Builders just show the straight-line distance, not the actual travel time.
Hospital access is a major concern. Builder promises are just that, promises. My friend got stuck in a similar situation.
Totally agree with the original post. Sector 15 sounds good on paper for connectivity but for senior citizens, health infrastructure is paramount. My in-laws are also looking and we checked out a few properties there, but the hospitals mentioned were either small clinics or too far with Gurugram's traffic. We are now considering options near **Airport Road** side, even though it's a bit pricier, just for better access to established hospitals. Budget mein yeh compromise karna padta hai.
Yaar, ye builders ki baaton pe bharosa karna kitna mushkil hai. My parents are also looking to downsize, aur har builder bolta hai sab convenience hai, but jab ground reality dekho toh kuch aur hi hota hai. Sector 15 toh theek hai location wise, but if hospitals are an issue, then it's a big red flag for seniors. Especially for emergency care, that's non-negotiable.
