Sector 15 schools are great, but safety?

My wife's priority is Sector 15 for the kids' school admission, but is it really safe for children playing outside after dark? Heard mixed things. Need at least a 3BHK, and want to be able to walk to the market. Any thoughts on the actual ground reality? Hope someone can share their experience.
