posted on 16 MaySector 28 Noida: Peace comes with infrastructure reality
Honestly, I'm trying to figure out if Sector 28 is all it's cracked up to be. My parents keep pushing for independent houses there, saying it's peaceful and green. But I'm worried about basic stuff like water and power. What's the actual water situation like? Is it mostly municipal supply or are borewells common? And power cuts? Do I need to factor in a massive inverter setup or is DG backup reliable? Honestly not sure if the premium for peace is worth these potential headaches. Any residents got real-world experience?

Dekho, Sector 28 ka scene mixed hai. Yes, it's quieter than central Noida, and plots are often bigger. But infrastructure catch-up kar raha hai, slowly. Water supply has improved in some pockets, but borewells are still common. Power cuts have reduced over the years, but a good inverter/UPS is still a must-have. Don't rely solely on DG, especially for independent houses. Market conditions abhi aise hain ki prices high hain, toh har cheez ka justification chahiye. Agar aapko independent house chahiye aur patience hai development ke liye, then consider it. Warna Alpha II ya Alpha-II Commercial Belt ke apartments mein better basic amenities mil jaati hain, but of course, different lifestyle.
DG backup ke baare mein koi batao please. Meri ek society mein Alpha I Greater Noida mein, DG backup ke naam pe sirf 4-5 ghante chalate hain, phir band. Sector 28 mein builders ka kya scene hai? Reliable hai ya sirf show-off?
U10, individual DG setup depends on capacity, but minimum 1.5-2 lakh toh lag hi jaayega for a decent 5-7 KVA generator, plus running costs. Maintenance alag.
Individual DG setup ka kya kharcha aata hai?
U4, independent houses mein DG backup generally khud ka lagana padta hai ya neighborhood level pe manage hota hai. Builders ka DG system societies mein hota hai. Sector 28 mein individual plots hain toh khud ki responsibility hai. Society living vs independent house ka major difference yahi hai.
Totally agree with the OP! Is it really worth the premium for 'peace' if you're fighting for water and electricity?
My chacha lives in Sector 28, near Ajayabpur, and honestly, peace toh hai. Subah ki hawa alag hi hoti hai. But unhone bataya ki borewell pe hi zyada depend karna padta hai, municipal supply abhi bhi erratic hai. Power cuts bhi hain, especially summers mein. Unhone toh 5kva ka inverter lagwa rakha hai. Lagta hai peace comes with a cost, but that cost includes managing these basic issues yourself. Alistonia Estate mein ek friend hai, unka experience thoda better hai in terms of society power backup.
U7, power cuts vary, but usually 2-3 ghante ke cuts common hain summers mein. Winters mein thoda better rehta hai. But haan, inverter/DG backup ke bina mushkil hai.
Kitni der ke power cuts hote hain normally?
Haan, U2 sahi bol rahe ho. Mere ek relative ka bhi wahi haal hai Ajayabpur ke paas. Borewell ka paani bhi thoda hard hai, RO filter mandatory ho jata hai. Municipal water supply toh bas naam ki hai, kabhi aati hai kabhi nahi. Investment in water purifiers is also a hidden cost.
Yaar, exactly my thoughts! Parents ko toh bas 'green' aur 'peaceful' dikhta hai, but practical problems kaun dekhega? Water aur power ka issue toh har jagah hai, but Sector 28 mein kitna serious hai, yehi tension hai. Premium dene ke baad bhi basic amenities ke liye struggle karna pade toh kya faayda? I'm looking for a place where I don't have to worry about these things daily, and if Sector 28 demands so much DIY infrastructure management, then I'm not sure it's the right choice for a first-time buyer like me.
