Selling big house, downsizing in Chandigarh is confusing
Okay, I'll say what no one says: the advertised price of a 2BHK in places like Saini Majra is practically a lie. My kids have moved out, so we're selling our big house and want something manageable, maybe a 2BHK flat. Looking at projects like Vamana Group's in Saini Majra, they quote ₹78L for a 2BHK, which sounds okay. But I'm hearing stories about the *actual* all-in cost. How much extra should I realistically budget for stamp duty, registration, PLC, parking, and all those 'surprise' charges that pop up? I'm honestly not sure if that ₹78L becomes ₹90L or even more. Should I factor in another 15-20% on top of the base price? We need to manage our finances post-retirement, so every hidden cost matters. Change my mind.

Totally feel you, OP! Ye builders ka toh pura game hi hidden charges pe chalta hai. ₹78L sunke laga ki theek hai, but fir jab final figure aata hai na, toh hosh udd jaate hain. My parents are also looking for downsizing and the budget goes haywire. So frustrating!
