Spent Sunday scouting Indiranagar and quotes shocked me
Spent the whole Sunday checking out upgrade options in Indiranagar. Currently in a 2BHK nearby, thinking of upgrading to a 3BHK. Quotes around ₹3.8 Cr sunke shock laga... already have a home loan running. Is this price jump really worth it, ya pura hype hai?

Did you end up making any token offer or are you planning to explore other areas this weekend?
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here, it entirely depends on how comfortable you are managing two loans if something unexpected happens. Indiranagar gives unbeatable convenience, walkability, and social life, but 3.8 Cr for an apartment means a massive mental burden if you are naturally cautious about money. Maybe rent a bigger 3BHK there for a year first to see if the lifestyle actually justifies putting your financial peace on the line.
Bhai 3.8 Cr is standard for Indiranagar today if it is around 1800-2000 sqft super built-up, but please verify if this includes registration and car parking charges or if that is extra?
Exactly, that is why we shifted our search completely towards Aavalahalli side. At least there my budget can breathe and we can buy a home without sweating every single month.
Jaise aapne bataya, registration and interior costs are easily another 40-50 lakhs on top of that base price. Stamp duty itself will be huge. A colleague bought nearby and ended up crossing 4.3 Cr total outflow, and now both husband and wife are stressed about their IT jobs every appraisal cycle.
Honestly pura hype lagta hai mujhe. People are just paying insane premium for the pin code and being near 100 Feet Road cafes. I was checking around Akshayanagar last week and prices are so much more grounded there for a spacious 3BHK. Why stretch yourself thin when you already have one loan active?
True, but what if property prices fall after we stretch our life savings? That constant fear keeps me awake at night whenever we look at high quotes.
Akshayanagar is definitely cheaper, but the daily commute towards central tech parks from there makes me so nervous. Still, paying almost 4 Cr in Indiranagar without even getting gated society amenities like a decent clubhouse or pool feels like a bad deal.
3.8 Cr sunke mera toh BP high ho gaya yaar! We are looking for our first small 2BHK and even 1 Cr feels terrifying, how are people casually spending nearly 4 Cr on an apartment?
Usually Indiranagar is touching 18,000 to 22,000 per sqft now depending on whether it is an independent builder or a big name. If you already have an existing loan running, taking another massive liability right now with home loan interest rates around 8.5% is scary. Bank approval toh mil jayega but EMI will literally eat up all monthly savings.
Same here yaar, even I get anxious looking at monthly EMIs above 60k. But did the broker tell you what the per square foot rate comes to for that 3.8 Cr flat?
