Stamp duty is the real hidden cost — fight me
Okay I'll be honest — I completely underestimated how confusing this process is. Just got possession of my 2BHK with Hiranandani near Deccan Gymkhana last month. The base price was one thing, but the amount I paid for stamp duty and registration hit me hard, yaar. It was way more than I'd budgeted for, like a huge chunk on top of the property cost itself. Felt like a nasty surprise, honestly. Nobody really breaks down these "mandatory" charges upfront in an easy-to-understand way. Did anyone else get blindsided by how much these fixed government taxes add up in Pune? How do you even account for them properly when you're first looking at properties? Is there any way to negotiate these, or are they just non-negotiable? Curious if others faced similar shocks.

Bhai, you're not alone! I booked a flat in Ambegaon Budruk last year,
Totally agree! I'm still trying to figure out my budget for a 1BHK in Akurdi, and every time I factor in stamp duty, it feels like I have to re-evaluate everything. It's not just a small percentage, it's a significant amount that builders conveniently forget to highlight until you're deep into the process. This happened to my cousin too.
