Why is stamp duty always such a shock when you actually get down to paperwork in Gurgaon? We're downsizing, looking for a 2BHK in Sector 56, maybe a Signature Global project. My kids have moved out, don't need such a big place anymore. But the stamp duty alone, plus registration, feels like a massive hidden cost, honestly. It's not just the property price, is it? This huge chunk of money on top... I mean, is there truly no way to soften this blow or are we just stuck with it?

Oh my god, someone finally said it! This is exactly what I'm dreading. We're also looking for a 2BHK and every time I factor in the stamp duty and registration, my budget goes for a toss. It's like paying for another small car on top of the apartment price. So frustrating!
Totally agree, I faced this near Badshahpur too! It's a huge chunk of money you just don't account for initially.
