What I wish I knew about Ansal Sushant City delays
The way some builders handle possession delays is just criminal. I'm currently in a 2BHK in Sector 42, trying to upgrade to a 3BHK at Ansal Sushant City. They promised possession in 3 years, but it's 4.5 now. My home loan interest is piling up and I'm still paying rent. This is a huge financial hit. Has anyone else there faced this with Ansal? What did you do about it, did you get any compensation?

This is a serious financial crunch. Is there any collective action being taken by buyers? Or is it just individual battles through RERA? What's the best way to approach them for compensation, legally speaking?
RERA is there, but it's not always effective. The builder will just drag their feet or offer some paltry amount. It's a lose-lose situation for the buyer.
For compensation, usually, you have to file a complaint with RERA. They can direct the builder to pay interest on the delayed period. However, getting that order enforced can be another challenge. Sometimes, a consumer court case is also an option, but it's a long fight.
This whole situation makes me so nervous. I'm a first-time buyer and the market in Chandigarh is already so tricky. Prices are high, interest rates are up, and then you hear these stories. It's not just Ansal, many builders play this game. My colleague booked in Saini Majra, and his project also got delayed by almost 2 years. He finally got possession but the quality wasn't what was promised. We need more transparency before booking, especially for budget-conscious buyers like us.
Ansal ka toh track record hi kharab hai. Always hear bad things about their projects. Stay away if you can!
Oh no, this is my biggest fear! I'm looking at properties around Mullanpur Garibdass and Sushant City was on my list. Has anyone else specifically faced these kinds of extreme delays with Ansal Sushant City? Are they still active there, or is the project completely stalled?
Wow, 2017 booking and still no possession? That's insane. So, is there any construction happening on site at all, or is it completely abandoned?
Yes, I can confirm. My uncle booked a flat in Ansal Sushant City back in 2017, and the original possession date was early 2020. They kept giving excuses, first COVID, then 'material shortages', then 'labour issues'. As of today, the project status is still 'null' on many portals, meaning no clear update or completion. He's stuck paying rent and EMI, just like the original poster. He tried legal avenues, but it's a long, drawn-out process. Compensation is a distant dream.
Bhai, you're not alone. This Ansal Sushant City delay story is like a broken record for so many of us. I almost booked with them in New Chandigarh a couple of years back, but my cousin warned me about their reputation for not sticking to timelines. Thank God I listened! It's absolutely heartbreaking to see your hard-earned money just draining away in EMIs and rent. Builders need to be held more accountable, RERA se bhi kuch khaas help nahi milti sometimes. What kind of compensation are you even hoping for?
Haan yaar, this is the reality of buying property in India. Builders promise the moon and deliver dust.
Totally agree with you. My friend faced similar issues with a different builder near Manimajra. These developers just take customers for granted. The financial strain is immense.
