Property registration in Bangalore is a nightmare, honestly. Just moved into my Jeevan Developers flat in Electronic City Phase II and the final stamp duty calculation was way higher than expected. Did anyone else face this? What's the real all-in cost here?

Bhai, this is exactly what happened with my cousin last year when he bought in Aavalahalli. Builders often give you a 'base' price and conveniently forget to mention all the hidden charges like amenities, parking, and then the registration costs just blow up. For a 70L flat, he ended up paying almost 10L extra just for these 'extra' things and registration. It's so frustrating for first-timers.
Oh my god, I thought it was just me! I'm looking at a flat in Akshayanagar and the builder quoted one price for registration but my friend said it'll be way more. Yeh toh pura scam lagta hai! Is there any way to actually calculate it beforehand or is it always a surprise?
Exactly! It's never just the stamp duty. Always some 'miscellaneous' charges pop up last minute. Builder ka toh kaam hi hai confuse karna.
Yes, you can calculate it! Check the Karnataka Kaveri Online Services website. You put in your property details, guidance value, etc., and it gives you a fair estimate. Builders often quote only the bare minimum stamp duty and registration fee, but neglect other charges. RERA mandates transparency, but still, you have to dig.
