What they don't tell you about Bangalore property costs
Since January I've been shortlisting flats in this city, aur after two previous purchases, ek cheez clear hai: hidden charges aur actual construction quality ka reality check bahut important hai. Bade builders jaise Prestige ya Sobha bhi, from my experience, possession ke time unexpected costs daal dete hain. Matlab, PLC for 'premium view' ya maintenance deposits jo brochure mein nahi the, yeh sab baad mein aata hai. Especially projects around Whitefield ya Sarjapur Road mein maine dekha hai. Quality mein bhi, Godrej ya Brigade ke projects mein bhi plaster cracks ya seepage issues dikhe hain after possession, not just small builders. Customer support toh booking ke baad gayab hi ho jaati hai, call uthate hi nahi. Always get a detailed cost breakdown in writing, line-by-line. Hope this helps someone avoid surprises.

Totally resonate with this. My cousin booked a flat with a reputed builder (won't name them but starts with P) in Whitefield a couple of years back. Yaar, exactly my fear! Whitefield mein dekh raha hu, and this post has me even more worried about hidden costs and the actual quality after possession. Budget already stretched hai.
